Praised for her
beautiful singing, wonderful artistry and beauty of interpretation,
Amy Cofield has performed all across the United States as well as
in France, Spain, Portugal, England, Austria, Santo Domingo, Taiwan
and Guam.
Ms. Cofield's operatic roles performed include Musetta in La Boheme
and Pamina in The Magic Flute with Knoxville Opera, Gilda in Rigoletto
with Wildwood Opera, Gilda in Rigoletto, Norina in Don Pasquale and
Violetta in La Traviata with Lyric Opera of San Antonio, Konstanze
in Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail and
Violetta in La Traviata with Teatro Lirico D'Europa, Musetta in La
Boheme with American Opera Theater in Taiwan and New York, Mimi in
La Boheme with Opera!Lenawee in Michigan, Cunegonde in Candide
and Susannah in Floyd's Susannah with Fort Worth Opera, and Berta
in Il Bariere di Siviglia with Houston Grand Opera where she also
served as cover for Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata.
Ms. Cofield maintains a busy concert schedule
as well. Recent
engagements included Handel's Messiah and Orff's Carmina Burana, as
well as the role of Julie Jordan in Carousel with the Annapolis Chamber
Orchestra and Chorale, Mendelssohn's Elijah and Rutter's Requiem with
the Southern Nevada Musical Arts Society, Brahms' German Requiem with
the Elkhart Symphony and Ravel's Sheherazade with the Garden State
Philharmonic. She also recently performed the soprano solos
in Mozart's Requiem and in Rutter's Mass of the Children at Carnegie
Hall.

have included Rodolfo in LA BOHÈME with Dicapo Opera Theatre;
the Duke in RIGOLETTO, Rodolfo in LA BOHÈME, and the title
role in LES CONTES D’HOFFMANN (Venetian Scene) with Italy’s
Chiari International Institute of Vocal Arts; Ruggero in LA RONDINE
and Luigi in IL TABARRO at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing
Arts; Pinkerton in MADAMA BUTTERFLY and the title role in FAUST
(scenes) at Mannes College; and the Duke in RIGOLETTO at the Smithtown
Performing Arts Center. Concert highlights have included Iseppo
in LA GIOCONDA and Delil in GIOVANNA D’ARCO with the Collegiate
Chorale; Roméo in ROMÉO ET JULIETTE (scenes) at Mannes
College; the VERDI REQUIEM with the Collegiate Chorale and the Choir
of Saint Mary in Stamford, Connecticut; the MOZART REQUIEM with
the Garden State Philharmonic and the Choir of Saint Mary; Rossini’s
STABAT MATER and Handel’s MESSIAH with the Choir of Saint
Mary; Mozart’s CORONATION MASS and Handel’s CORONATION
ANTHEM with New Jersey’s Shrewsbury Chorale; Bach’s
MAGNIFICAT and Handel’s MESSIAH with the Garden State Philharmonic;
and Beethoven’s NINTH SYMPHONY with the SUNY Purchase Philharmonic.
Mr. Shen is a winner of the Richard F. Gold Career Grant for 1999,
and a scholarship recipient of both the Tanglewood Institute and
the Mannes College of Music. He currently resides in New York, and
is a student of Mignon Dunn.
