The Shrewsbury Chorale's 2008-2009 Season marks Charles Harris' first season with us. Charles is the Director of Music Ministries at The First Presbyterian Church at Red Bank, New Jersey, and has served in this position since 1988. He is the senior organist of the church and is responsible for the large music program, which includes six singing choirs, five handbell choirs, a concert series, and a summer music camp for children. Prior to coming to Red Bank, he served eleven years in a similar position at the Tyler Street United Methodist Church in Dallas, Texas.

A Dallas native, Mr. Harris is a graduate of the College of Music at the University of North Texas, Denton, where he was a scholarship student. He received his Masters Degree from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey, where he was a teaching assistant on the organ faculty.

Charles and his wife, Rebecca, a private piano teacher, reside in Oceanport NJ. They have two sons - Richard, of Lexington Park, MD; and Louis, of Hampton VA.
